Built in 1958 and designed by Scottish architect Alexander Green, this contemporary Freestone fronted home was considered architecturally daring for its time and has some interesting stories to tell. Local legend has it that the original owners were obsessed with a sea view, so they went ahead and added a second story. This upper level consisted of a simple room and featured large west facing windows, resulting in panoramic blue sky and sea views. Major renovations, undertaken around the 1970's by new owners saw this addition removed with the roofline remaining unchanged since that time.

In its early days 10B Lamington Avenue was considered a hub of the community - it's owners regularly hosting lavish dinner parties for friends and neighbours. Local teenagers were hired to supervise young children and to take care of the after-party cleanups. If you go for a stroll around nearby streets, you're quite likely to bump into some of those 'teenagers' even today - albeit a few years older and wiser.

In that era, kids and families alike enjoyed the short walk to the beach - which - not surprisingly hasn't gotten any longer. These days the beach itself has gotten better however, with the Sailing club having been joined by the Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club, the Hotel and of course local shops not far away either.

Public transport has vastly improved, with the CBD easily accessible via train, and fast access to Westfield Shopping Centre, Flinders University and Medical centre only minutes away by bus.

The home itself features three extra large bedrooms all located at the end of a long corridor - it makes sense really, keeping the kids safely away from the ruckus of those parties in the lounge room, right at the other end of the house. Located next to the kitchen, it features a neat serving window, giving todays home owner an idea of the large scale that some of the parties were - take a peek at the size of that kitchen. An entertainment hub. Alexander Green, we like your style!

These days the house effectively has three large living areas, which suits todays lifestyle down to a "T" - set up the kids and their devices in the living area, enjoy a quiet book or glass of wine in the lounge and partake in family meals right there in the kitchen.

Alternatively, the more entrepreneurially inclined buyers might choose to turn one of the living areas into two large bedrooms, turn the über sized laundry into that second bathroom (simply add a door facing the passageway) and we have an awesome student accommodation lodge all set (Subject of course to the standard consents and approvals).

Whichever way you see it, opportunity abounds for the next owner to add their story to the chronicles of Seacliff Park.

Go ahead, come and grab your slice of South Australian history.
