Little is known of this building’s early history, but the Morphett Vale District Council rates assessments suggest it was constructed prior to 1853/54. It’s form and construction clearly suggest an early construction date. A newspaper cutting from the Advertiser dated 1978 quotes the dwelling being built during the 1840’s and saying it has been partially restored.

A single-story cottage, apparently constructed of sandstone (now painted). The hipped roof is clad in corrugated iron. Windows are timber, casement style. Both the original cottage and the in ground domed cellar outside are heritage listed.
