Featured in ?Home Beautiful? in 1977 as ?Living in the Future?, this home was designed and built for the German architect?s own family with ?tomorrow?s lifestyle? very much in mind. It?s An innovative house that shows its modernity not only in the design but in its finishing touches, finished in 1976 with a Year 2000 concept. Like all good designs, the house was dictated by the site, which had been chosen for the views and the peacefulness of a street in the Adelaide foothills.

The house divides naturally into two parts. One is the living-dining area and Master bedroom, the other is the children?s area with 2 spacious bedrooms & bathroom leading off an adjoining games/rumpus room. Each part opens to its own lush tropical garden paradise.

The kitchen is the link between the two parts of the house, offering fabulous views across the Sturt Gorge through huge picture windows. The kitchen is split into 3 levels, utilising space for an elevated breakfast bar so that comfortable dining chairs can be used instead of stools.

The Master bedroom offers a beautiful ensuite, almost as big as the bedroom itself and includes toilet, bidet, shower, 6ft bath, 2 handbasins and tiles to the ceiling ? who would have thought of that concept back in 1978? From the Master a staircase leads to an attic above the kitchen ? a great parent?s retreat or nursery. In fact, our architect used this room as his work-room study for many more innovative designs.

The rear yard is well established and includes a large undercover entertaining area and IG pool; completing a fabulous family package.
