‘Beltunga Trails’ is a charming 5 bedroom mud brick home built in 1987 and set amidst what can only be described as a wonderland garden setting of almost 4 acres (1.57 hectares). These lush grounds are divided down the centre by a pretty spring fed creek which meanders through the length of the block, providing natural irrigation and flourishing flora and fauna all year round.
A never ending delight to explore, a boardwalk winds its way through an area of wetlands. An original slate miners cottage within the garden offers a historic renovation project and a multitude of uses. A flat expanse of lawn dotted with big leafy trees provides shady spots in which to throw down a picnic rug and spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. Stretch your legs with a hillside walk along the ridge top trail, where you can truly appreciate the magical surrounding countryside setting in all its glory.
Cosy up in winter in front of the wood heater in the lounge. Spend warm summer days in the dappled shade of the trees. Watch in awe as native bird and animal life bursts forth in the spring. Marvel at the vast array of colours surrounding you during the autumn months. ‘Beltunga Trails’ is a delight 12 months of the year.

Some words from the vendors
“We first moved to Willunga 22 years ago and called our property ‘Happy Hills’. Our three sons had many creative ideas to improve the garden such as bamboo cubby houses, tree houses, tracks down the hillside for their bob-sleds, mounds for BMX bikes, trails for motor bikes, discovering creek creatures and making frog ponds.
Our family learnt many new skills in order to complete projects such as restoring an original slate miner’s cottage, landscaping and constructing a boardwalk through the wetlands area.
Our research and attending workshops convinced us that organic, sustainable gardening was the best way to grow our vegetables, fruit trees and to attract wildlife to the garden. ‘Beltunga Trails’ evolved as an outdoor education experience for school groups highlighting care for the environment and discovering creatures living in various habitats.
Our family, friends and school children will always have happy memories of exploring the trails - along the creek, wetlands and hillside with views that never fail to please. The valley has echoed the sounds of children’s laughter and chatter as they discover frogs, butterflies, yabbies, nests and birds.
It’s a nature-lovers retreat:
• Brekky with the Kookaburra, Magpie, Wattlebird chorus.
• Lunch with the very busy Blue Fairy Wrens, Honeyeaters, Rosellas (to name a few).
• Tea with the birds returning to their abodes, frog calls and owls.
The sights and senses are greatly enhanced and every opportunity has been made to enjoy the ‘garden therapy’ experience.
It’s time to down-size and offer this amazing life-style to a family who will enjoy the outdoor adventure playground as much as our family and school groups.”
